Title-less....

It's so hard to come up with a title for my posts most of the time. I blog about so many random things in one post that I sometimes am not sure what to title it :) So, I hope you can understand why today's post is 'title-less'.

I was experimenting with photo-taking indoors for my Etsy shop these two days. I don't have the luxury of a big window with very bright sunlight shining in now... so I have to improvise. Oh, it is very sunny outside here in LA, it's just not shining into my apartment... haha.

I caught the right lighting yesterday but I decided I didn't like the background and tried to take pictures of my products again today... then I discovered (finally), why my product pictures aren't showing in the shop as how I wanted them to!! But Mr. Sun has left the 'building', figuratively.... cos he's still out shining bright just now... the light just wasn't streaming in through the window anymore.

There has been a lot of trial and error but I have finally got it! I just need to wait for tomorrow to come to continue my photo-taking endeavors :)

I can't wait for all the photos to turn out how I want them to.. haha... it's so easy to use instagram or some other apps but not for the shop. I have to represent the product in its actuality as accurately as possible.

Anyway, if you made it thus far reading about my adventure in photographing my notebooks and badges, here's a layout I would like to share with you! :) Actually, I think I completed this last month .. I am so slow in posting them up. I have a lot more backlogged now :P

I am having a lot of fun creating layouts now. 12x12 layouts used to be very daunting to me and I never really made any back in Malaysia, however, once I started, it seems more do-able now :) I am getting the hang of it. I created some 8.5x11 layouts too... will share them soon.

Geometric Pin-Back Badges

I've been seeing a whole lot of geometric shapes around me lately and I am *smitten* by them. So, I decided to make pin-back badges. This way, I can wear them on my t-shirt, blouse or even pin them on my bag!

I painted them with acrylic paint and then sealed and varnished them. The color of the wood turned darker after the sealant and varnish is applied... would have preferred it a lighter color but I wanted the badge to be protected :)

Pretty on the bag, isn't it? :D

I have some individual badges and some sets up for sale :)

I will be listing them in my Etsy shop tonight, 8pm PST. Go get them! :)

Ink & watercolour

To those who know me long enough, they would know that I have been drawing and doodling since I could hold a pen :) Back in school,  I was doodling when the teacher was teaching... frankly speaking, I am not sure how I paid attention to the teacher and passed my exams since I am mostly doodling... I even mastered to doodle as if I'm taking notes!

Though, I kinda stopped doodling altogether when I advanced to college.... at that time, I somehow stopped doodling altogether. I think I stopped reading books too! (well, except textbooks.. boo hoo)

There was an obvious drought in drawing for many years in my life from college to when I started working.... it was during the last couple of years that I dived back into the 'artistic side' of my soul. Recently I have started drawing more and it feels good :)

All the illustration you see above are my originals in ink and watercolour. They are available in my Etsy shop if you wanna get your hands on them. They come in the black frame ready for you to display it.. all signed and dated... erm, the sheep stays with me.. LOL...

Write & Draw

Have been keeping my time busy with writing and drawing... well, I would say drawing and painting more than writing. Baby steps, baby steps... I have been wanting to get back to writing but procrastination has a very strong hold on me :P

A nice notebook and a pretty pen does help to motivate me to write

Been drawing quite a lot lately too.... I am going to frame these up and list them on my Etsy shop soon :) Am finding solace painting with my watercolour set :)

Doing my small part

When the tsunami hit Japan, I felt really bad for the people there and had thought to do something to raise funds for the victims there. Then a follower at my facebook page emailed me asking me if I have plans to do anything to help as well. But I was really tied up last week and couldn't prepare stuffs till now but here I am now.

Below are the card sets that I'm selling to raise funds. Just email me to order as I will be making it as the requests comes in. 50% of the sale will go towards helping the people in Japan. I will make my donation through World Vision Malaysia.

If any of you are not from Malaysia but wishes to help. I will list these cards on Etsy as well. If you see that it's sold, just email me and I will re-list it again.

Everything you purchase from Etsy or my Facebook page from now till end of March will also contribute towards the relief fund.

Thank you in advance for your kindness. I believe every small part that we do counts.

Featured

Hallo :) Thought I'll share a treasury that I am featured in on Etsy... well, I have been featured in a few treasuries before this but I didn't really post them here... will do so in the future... at least to add some fun :)

This treasury is curated by Jainabee... it's so warm & sunshine-y (if there's such a word....) :P Loving the items she chose :)

All the above are items from our very own Team Etsy Malaysia. Support local handmade products!

Some things....

... that I've been working on. I haven't participated in challenges for quite a while now but of course, I still have my Cardabilities 'duties' to 'perform... hehe..

In the course of Mr. Mojo escaping from my creativity bank and has not seem to want to be found, I've been making some gift tags and note cards :)

What do you think? If you like it, you can find them on my Etsy store! :)
