Card Patterns Sketch #101

I have on & off participated in Cart Patterns' Sketches... they always have awesome sketches so if you can find time, you can join them and create a card or two based on their sketches! :)

Here's what I made based on CP's Sketch #101 :) Love the little submarine... haha... Been wanting to use my Waltzing Mouse stamps for a while but never got to it! I wonder why! They are so cute!

Isn't the submarine the cutest thing? haha... Addicted to make a couple more of these :) I glossed up the 'window' to the submarine too... can't really see in this pic.

Can't wait to make more cards... been making other things and I miss making cards!!!

Missing little mouse

My mum used to call me a mouse... cos I love to snack a lot and whenever she hears the cupboard in the kitchen open or the tupperwares being opened, she kinda knew it was me trying to sneak some snacks about... hahahaha.... my brother doesn't really snack so it is almost 100% me :P

Well, I've been MIA from my blog for a bit... was busy preparing for KLPAC, then took a break, attended a workshop and then in a blink of an eye, it was Chinese New Year! :) and that means, cleaning, washing, snacking, late nights and family get-together! :)

So, I haven't really been crafting... boo hoo.... I really admire crafters who creates daily like Amy! :) lol, girl, you're my inspiration... I do lurk eventhough I am missing in the comments section... sorry about that... love all your cards, though! :D

Oh, here's what the missing little mouse made about 2 weeks ago for a custom order. My friend was invited to a rainbow-themed party and requested for a custom order card & gift tag set. Here's what I made for him :)

rainbow-themed Birthday card

gift-tag

Yup, the flowers were self-made :) It's pretty addictive making them. I made quite a lot to keep and use for future projects! :)

Hope you like what I shared today.... more to come. Praise the Lord, I received a few custom orders for Valentine Day Cards :) If you would like to order one, do email me at angelicquirk@gmail.com or visit me at http://facebook.com/Angelicquirk

Kissy, Huggie....

It started first with stamping and cutting the images out.... then colouring, blending and glossing......

And then, more conceptualization to turn them into fun cards for Valentine's Day! :)
Well, you can use them for other occasions too... birthdays or just to say "I Love You".... Cards are coming back in trend, you know... :P as my friend calls it, "Retro e-mails"

Cards can be ordered individually or in a set.. :) Just indicate it to me when you send me a mail :)

Cardabilities Sketch #15

It's Cardabilities time again! :) Another fabulous sketch from the very fabulous Karan!! :) I had a lot of fun with this sketch and I see the other girls in the team did too! :)

Here's my take on the sketch.....

Code : AO0141

Creating has been slow for me.... I haven't really created in quite a while. No mojo.... I have done the challenge that my dear friend posted to me and the photo has been taken but honestly I am not that pleased with myself cos I think it's not good enough... hmm... maybe a 2nd attempt at it would be better...

Thanks for dropping by and remember to head on over to Cardabilities to join in the fun! The inspirations are endless! :)

come back, Mr. Mojo

Another card I made sometime back.... haha... I think I haven't made a card in 2 weeks. Oh boy, one of the longest stretches of Mr. Mojo leaving me. I think Mr. Mojo went for a holiday without telling me... how sad... :P

Just a simple card today. Love the pop of colours :)

Code : AO0136

Hope that you'll all have a great day! :) I definitely need a Mojo and inspiration boost! One crafty friend gave me a challenge to help me get my mojo back.. am going to attempt that later :)

a wish....

A wish... that's all I'm asking for...

Here's an inked up chandelier from Inkadinkado... :) I have yet again been neglecting ALL my other stamp sets and have only been playing with PTI's sets... waiting for my WM and Wplus9 to arrive so that I can have more variety... :P

Code : AO0134

I actually love the bright combination of colours. Very cheery, don't you think? and we all need something to brighten up our days sometimes, don't we? :)

Love layering stamps too... did you notice the text on top of the polka dots? loving it! :)

Hope you girls are having a great day, where ever you are! :)

Lack of posts

I know I've been missing in action for a bit again..... not posting everyday or alternate days... sometimes I feel that I need to blog everyday and it feels kinda weird if I didn't but sometimes I have to tell myself that it's ok. I've been crafting. Not as much as I would like but I did. I was just too lazy to upload the photos into the laptop and edit them :P

yeeeshhh... I've been a lazy girl. sowwweeeeee.......

Anyway, I made this card, last week, I think. It's a boy birthday card... something I don't make very often. Paper pieced the car. Blinged the headlights and stamped my own 'patterned' cardstock.... lol... I was on a frenzy and stamped quite a few card base with patterns... :) The card in the previous entry was one.. haha...

So, what do you think of my little boy card? I really hope to make more manly cards but always seem to forget and proceed to make girlie ones... Well, maybe cos girlie cards allow for lace and blings and flowers... :P

Thanks for popping by today.... hope you like the card :)

Hot air balloons

I received my Papertrey order yesterday! Well, yesterday was a happy mail day for me!!! First I collected my Simply Handmade magazines parcel from the post office and then headed down to the Courier depot to collect my PTI parcel. Yes, they have separated the locations to collect parcels, which I think is dumb cos I have to drive to 2 separate places but I'm still pretty happy cos I get to read the mags and play with my new stamp sets!!! :D

*can you see my big, big smile?*

And I got another happy news..... I won one of Shimelle's online class. Yippee!!! I've been contemplating to sign up or not cos I'm out of budget for this month and could not be happier that I won a giveaway! The class is called "Love your Pictures, Love your Pages" and I do believe I'm going to have a lot of fun! :)

Ok.... this is a long post.... sorry for the rambling on..... here's a card I made based on Card Pattern's Sketch #70. Using one of my new stamp sets... Loving this set to the bits!

Don't you just love the hot air balloons? I coloured some parts in eventhough I stamped it on patterned paper, just for fun. Oh, I'm enjoying my baker's twine too.... gosh, I love them. Been looking for places to buy them for the longest time now :)

Butterfly wishes

Code : HB0056

You know how much I was raving about these monarch butterflies, right? I am so loving the details but I do agree with Amy that it is a bit messy :)

Made this card based on Kazan's Sketch 50 from 2S4Y. Was thinking of posting this when I've completed the bonus sketch but oh well, that could have a separate post of its own in a day or two :)

I stamped the background for interest and added rhinestones on the butterflies too. The red makes it pop, no?

Birthdays

We celebrated grandma's birthday last weekend :) Her actual birthday is last Wednesday but since my uncle & my parents had to travel from outstation, we celebrated it a few days late.

I love family gatherings (that doesn't involve drama) cos there's always a lot of catching up to do :) Drama's are tiring and a waste of time but some people just love it. And it happens everywhere... not just at home. It's-all-around-us. s.i.g.h. Unfortunately.

Well, I guess we just have to live with it and learn how to handle it better :)

birdcages

Sometimes I create many cards in one day and then don't post them up until much later. I don't have the time to make a card a day so when I find a little time, I will make as many as I can and thanks to scheduled posting, I can schedule them for posting anytime I want.

Of course, the text I sometimes include later. But most of the time, I actually do blog in advance.

I love this birdcage I got from Hambly. It's just so pretty. I *almost* didn't want to cut them :P How could I? haha... But I had too cos I really hoard too much :P

I love the bokeh effect my camera does now.... happy happy :D

Manly card

Made another manly card :) I think I deserve a pat on my back each time I make one...haha.. cos I always finds it the hardest. This one turned out pretty fine, I must say. I hand cut the stars and also the tag. Drew out the shape of the tag (roughly) and then cut it out. Not too bad, I must say.

Haven't been out for a photo-walk for some time now. I think I might be able to go for one after work one of these days. Let's see :)

If you had a couple of million....what would you do?

This card will go to a friend who loves cats :)

Hoping that she'll like it.

Ok... now, just a dream/fantasy... if you had/won a couple of million dollars, what would you do with it? And how are you going to spend your life?

Sometimes I like to think of impossible questions like these. Well, winning it is kind of impossible since I don't buy the lottery. Earning it, well, I would need a solid business plan then (which I don't have...) but if I really do have a couple of million moolahs to dish out, I would give 10% to my church, 15% to my parents, invest some.... buy lotsa craft supplies, go for photography classes & I'm definitely 'retiring' (cos I'll have some in FD to feed me). I would spend my 'free' time volunteering at old folks or children's home. Maybe I can work for World Vision :D I never believe that one can be bored if they stop working because there's just so many things in the world that we can do. How can we be bored?

Maybe one day, I will go to Myanmar to visit the child I sponsored. I won't need a couple of million to do that :) And I guess it's time to sponsor another child :P My personal goal was to sponsor a child a year but I didn't manage to do that last year. Maybe a child in 2/3 years? Seems reasonable, right? Wow... I'm going to have so many 'kids' around the world in the future... LOL

exhaustion = low immunity

Have not been feeling too good the past couple of days... sneezing my head off and now the sore throat has sunk in. sigh.... I blame it on the weather.. It's too hot and then it rains when we're heading home from office :P

Well, the weather plays a part and I think I have also been physically exhausted. Exhaustion = low immunity, so therefore I am now s.i.c.k :(

Am on medical leave today cos my whole body's aching and I can't talk... throat's hurting bad. Am gonna sleep now. Made this card last week for one of 365 Card's challenge but I forgot to post it up. I didn't even link it up there... oh well, maybe I will eventhough it's late.

Absolutely fabulous

Isn't it absolutely fabulous?

Everyday is fabulous if we make it. It's not easy, yes I know. Sometimes it takes extreme effort to will ourselves to make the day better. Some days it's easier. I guess we just have to make a mental note to want it to be better, what with all the 'weird' people we meet during the day, right? :P They are there for a reason because iron sharpens iron. There's no use for a blunt blade. A blade is only useful when it's sharp.

Embrace them, thank them for they make us better people.

It's easier in words, not in deeds.

I am still learning but I believe it is our attitude in life and not our aptitude that determines our altitude in life.

Wish Big

In life, we have to wish big, no? At least if our 'big' wish doesn't come true... the smaller ones does? It's just like shooting for the moon, if you miss, at least you'll land among the stars :)

There's not many people in the office yesterday and it was so, so cold.... Many people are still on leave, though the carpark where I parked is still full! I guess many people are already back to work, just not those from my department! :P

Had mamak with the Hubs just now... just the two of us. Sometimes, need to go out for some 'dating' sessions too... :) We saw this weird sport on tv while eating... I think it's called curling. It's a game in the Vancouver Winter Olympics. I think I will google it later. Interesting to find out what it is.

Here's leaving you with a close up of the card. Hope you like it. I fussy cut the flower out to make it pop.

Happy Birthday

This is another 'sweet' coloured card :) I seem to be better at making these than I am at making masculine ones :P I do hope to create a few more of those masculine type cards, though... for the benefit of those who buy cards for their boyfriend or husbands (or brothers... hehe)

And again, I mix stamps from different sets to create a card. I normally do that. You will rarely get to see a card with stamps from only one set on my card :)

Happy Chinese New Year... there are 15 days in the Lunar Chinese New Year... enjoy, eat as many mandarin oranges, devour as much cookies and goodies and then, well, we'll 'diet' when this whole festivies ends, right? :P

Will post up some pictures soon too :) I just invested in a Nikon D90 and am learning to photograph better :) Yes, I'm an amateur hoping to take better pics :)

Gong Xi Fa Cai! :)

It's Chinese New Year/ Valentine's Day!!! Ushering in the Year of the Tiger *roarrrrrr*

Gong Xi Gong Xi!!

It's the Year of the Tiger following the 12 zodiac signs on the Lunar Calendar. It's quite interesting how the animals raced to cross the finish line in a race held by the Jade Emperor. And the rat, although was good friends with the cat, misinformed the cat about the day of the race causing the cat to miss the race & did not get a spot on the zodiac calendar hence swearing enmity with the rat for all eternity :)

You can read more about it here.

Hope you like the legend.... and my card too :)

Hearts & Leaves

Code : HB0048

There are some days that I can't think of what to blog about.... but then I have cards to share... so, what do I do? I just post the pictures of the cards first and ya, well.. that's about it :P

I embossed the polka dots on the cardstock to create texture and add interest and then added the leaves on :) The Happy Birthday on the 'banner' is handwritten by me.. could it have fooled you? :)

This card was also made during my weekend de-stressing session...

Just because...

Code : AO0066

Was de-stressing by getting crafty during the weekend. It's really cool spending time at my craft table and just craft away. I think I'm getting faster at assembling a card :P  Or maybe I just have some ideas and inspirations... I don't know... sometimes it's ideas galore and at other times, I just stare blankly at my tools & papers.

It's Chinese New Year in another few days' time. Time passes really fast! At first it was New Year's and then it's February already...

Chinese New Year falls on Valentine's Day this year... Interesting, right? I guess the lovebirds gets to kill two birds with one stone celebrating both events?
