A long awaited Card post :)

Honestly speaking, I haven't been making cards for such a long time! Well, I guess I had a lot of cards still in stock so I didn't really bothered replenishing my 'inventory' but I am so aching to make some! I just had  not enough time in a day!

*sewing journals is time consuming.. well, not if you're only sewing one or two*

So, when I received orders to make cards, I'm really happy! :D Here's an order for a birthday card and 2 congratulations cards for wedding :)

"Love is in the air" & "Love birds"

Sorry about the instagram photos, which is appearing a lot on my blog nowadays (cos I uber love instagram), but it's also a faster way for me to take pics and I love the cool effects! :P

Hope you like the pics! :)

Congratulations

My best friend is pregnant..... baby's due in December.... lol.... I told her to induce on the 8th December so that baby will be born on the day I got registered :P If I'm not mistaken, her baby is due around and I was hoping that she'll be born on my registration day.... crazy me, right? hahahaha....

Made this card for her... I think it's quite safe to post it here since she rarely checks my blog :P If she sees this, well, I'll just design another one for her then.... I love the sweet colours I used. yummy colours :)

Doily love :)

A friend commissioned me to make a card for her friend who just opened her 2nd pastry outlet. It's called Delectable and I looked through their blog..... her pastries are a-w-e-s-o-m-e!!!! That is one talented girl (and her elves... so she calls them).

I decided that since she's into baking (cos she owns a pastry outlet? duh... hehe), I will use my mousey image from Penny Black... and the doily that I took back from Aussie land... this is imported doily, ok? ... hehe... I added the doily to place further emphasis on baking.

*sidetrack : I love doilies... where can I get them in KL?*

Love the little mouse stirring at the mixture.... I popped up one of the cupcakes to give it more dimension and glossed up the cherries, cupcakes and the mouse to make them stand out :) Can't seem to get enough of glossed up images. I just like them that way....

Background is stamped with Polka Dot basics II and Distressed Stripes... added lace and blinged it up with pearls for added ooomph....

I must say, this is another one of my favourite cards so far.... what say you? :)

I'm late in posting this....

Cindy told me about this sometime ago but I was kinda busy & tied up so I haven't even thanked her for informing me (thank you, sweetie!!)...... but I was super excited about it! It was a piece of super happy news!

My card was one of the chosen cards for WPlus9 Design's On Cue Colour Challenge! I couldn't believe it!!! :)

This was the card that caught their eye :)

Thanks for choosing my card! Am still beaming here!!! :)

Addicted to a certain butterfly

Hmmm.... so I'm addicted to a certain butterfly.... the Monarch butterfly punch! :P I've been trying to withhold using too much since I bought it. But I think I handled that quite alright... with only 2 other cards featuring these butterflies, no? :)

I made this card based on the Colour Cue {3} Challenge over at Wplus9 and Card Pattern's Sketch 60.

Lovely colours & sketch I must say. I might just make a few more cards based on the color combo & also the sketch. This card took me quite a while to get done cos I don't have anything planned in my head. I just looked at my paper & scraps and pieced them together. I had to stamp the background.... :P One other thing I'm addicted to, stamping! haha.... added some faux stitching to the card too... felt that held the card together better :)

Chandelier....

I love scheduled posts! Don't you? :)

I get really swamped during the weekdays and nights that I sometimes don't have the time to make cards, photograph them, edit them and blog about them. I would love to do that every night but well, we all have things to do that we just have to do, right? :)

I made this card using a combination of stamps from Inkadinkado, PTI and Hero Arts :) I also sprayed Glimmer mist on it to give it more ooomph. I think the blings helped too.

Gosh, it's December already! Time does flies. I still remember the start of 2009 and now it's already coming to a close and 2010 is right at the door. Man, sometimes I really wish that time can move slower....

Get Sketchy #10

So fast!

Only weeks ago was I their GD for Sketch #2....! And I've missed quite a few sketches in between but here I am, back for Sketch #10  :)

Love the simplicity of the sketch. Mind you, don't let the simplicity fool you! It's still quite a challenge :P

And the bonus challenge is : Handwriting.

Gosh, I don't think my handwriting is exceptionally beautiful but here goes.....

I used my newly 'acquired' Glimmer Mist on the card... love the shimmery effect. I'm very sure I'm gonna be using it a lot more soon :P

Using blooms...

Do you like blooms? Do you think this card is too pink? :P I love the blooms, though...

Made this card based on 2S4Y's sketch #34. Tweaked the sketch a little... naughty me. I didn't follow 100%.

Cut a hole out in the middle of the card and replaced it with an acetate window. Stamped, cut the blooms out and popped them up with pop dots :) Love the 3D effects the blooms make.

Hope this card is acceptable! :)

Loving my Chandelier

Combining 2 challenges again tonight.... :) One from 365Cards and another a sketch from Card Patterns.

I'm not very good at creating vintage looking cards. It's one of those challenges that I try to avoid :P But I've got my chandie stamp that I have not broken out from its packaging yet and I can't wait to use them (am going to get my hands on some Inkadinkado's as well.. saw some online. Need to scour the LSS to see if they have any :P )

Alright.... anyway, the challenge for Day 180 is Going Vintage. Amy did a fantastic job inspiring me, by the way. And CardPattern's sketch #29 is fun but challenging.

Code : AO0051

I distressed the cardstock and also the patterned paper and then inked them with distressed ink to create an 'aged' effect. Then I drew the swirls on with silver and gold pen. I wanted it to have an aged look as well... like discoloured brass... then I punched out the butterflies with my favourite puncher of the moment, layered them and voila! my card is done :)

It did take me about close to 2 hours to get this whole thing working.... well, like I said... I'm not that great at making vintage cards :)

Precious Girl

Code : CC0007

Made this card as a request from Hubby's cousin for her friend. She wanted a card that's simple and not too complicated and it's for a baby girl. Coincidentally, my package from TwoPeas just arrived the weekend before her request and I got to use my Little Yellow Bicycle's baby Safari Stamp Set :)

Was kinda excited to break it out from it's packaging so I was delighted that she ordered a card! :P

She's already given it to her friend... hmmm... am wondering if her friend likes it too :D

To a bride & her groom

Made this for a colleague. She wanted to a card for her brother who's getting married soon.

What do you think of this?

Rarely do I have to draw an image... but I seem to have to do that quite often if it's a custom order.. :P

Shopaholic anonymous? I hope not :P

One of our pastor's wife just gave birth to a very adorable baby girl! Very cute little baby. Can't wait to see her in church! :)

I made this card for the little family incorporating 365 Card's challenge for Day 114, Lovin' Lavender. I just swiped this lovely pack of Bazill paper (5 shades of purple) last Sunday and it's just perfect to use cos it has the colour I need for this challenge!

Cute, right? :)

Code : CC0005
Status : Can be remade :)

And what's this about shopaholic anonymous?

Well, to put it simply, I've been buying too much craft stuff lately. From paper packs, patterned papers, punchers and stamps (LOADS of them!) to brads, flowers and ribbons.

Darn, I really must stop this shopaholic trend before I seriously make a big dent on my savings :P

Am gonna be really serious about not making any purchases in all the craft shop I visit until August! I just have to stop buying anything for a month. Cold turkey!! HAHA... my hubby's definitely going to bet that I can't do it.

We'll see ya? I really do have a lot of stuff to use at my disposal now. I H-A-V-E to just stop purchasing craft stuff for ONE month.....

*it kinda sounds like I have to register myself in to shopaholic anonymous* :P

If you have it, USE IT :)

Found a new blog that has challenges as well! I found it through Michelle's blog (she's a terrific crafter!). Their challenges are unique as it requires you to use the items they list. That's it! No sketches. Just follow their 'recipe' :)

It's my first time there but I'm loving all the cards I see. They are all so pretty! Boy, there are so many talented crafters out there!

I'm combining the recipe on Use It (must have pink, scallop and add a tag!)

Then over at 365 Cards, they wanted a card with the word, 'Girl'. Oh, and to make the card very girly.

I hope my card fulfills both the requirements :)

Have fun!

One order : Status "Complete"

Made this for a friend as she requested for a congratulatory card for her friend's wedding. Already emailed her the pictures of the card. Hope she likes it.

Hand dotted and drawn the design with liquid pearls for more dimension.

Code : CC0001
Status : Sold! (can be reproduced max. 2 times)
Price : RM 13.90 (USD 4.20)

Received another custom design order. This time from Hubby's friend. He has given me a budget to play around with as he wanted a card that is not of the usual size I'm making. Meaning, I'll have to handmake the envelope too :)

On another note, those mini cards (3x3 inches) are a welcome break to make in between making 4.5x6 inches cards as the surface area is smaller taking less time to complete!

My mission is to make lots of cards, both sizes, so that I'll always have cards in hand for when the occasion arises :P

An Ad Inspired Card

I've been wanting to use this patterned paper for a while now.... wanted to use the damask stamp I have as well cos I am IN LOVE with damask design :D

Stamped the damask on the cardstock with Versamark dazzle for a sparkly effect, added some bling on the top left corner of the card (unfortunately the camera is not able to capture it's bling...hmmmm).

This card is based on this Ad below,

Makes me think of freshness & exuberance :)

And here's my creation....

Code : CC0002
Status : Sold! (can reproduce with different patterned paper)
