Unfortunately I don't have the privilege to have this whole week off considering the fact that I was on looOong leave just a while ago.
However, the upside to working during the festive season is 1) Less traffic 2) Quiet office.
Even people are nicer! :)

What do you do if you have 400+ emails?
1. hit the 'delete' key
2. read the oldest emails first
3. read the latest emails first
4. hit the 'delete' key
5. accidentally hit the 'delete' key and say 'ooops'
6. read your bosses emails first.
7. read emails with 'red flag' first
8. hit the 'delete' key
9. don't read any of the emails.........
What do you think I did?

F.R.I.E.N.D.S
Borrowed the complete season of F.R.I.E.N.D.S from my cousin last Sunday and it's been my source of entertainment since :P
Well, I didn't always used to have the privilege to watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S when it was shown. For about 3 years in college, I didn't watch much TV. As a matter of fact, almost zero amount of time spent on TV (except for holidays) as we did not have a TV. My friend has one. Lucky her... Too much time was spent on reports as well, so I don't really have time for it.
Then there was the first time I watched the show. I remember all the hype that surrounded it and I was so excited to watch it. Think I was in high school then and it was to be shown on national TV. Boy oh boy was it a HUGE letdown!
It was so heavily censored! Watching the pilot episode now is a totally different experience from when I watched it years ago. I couldn't understand what they were trying to say cos almost every sentence was censored. If there was the word, 'sex', or anything to do with sex, it was censored and the pilot episode did have quite a lot of those words. Still, censoring it out does not make the show more 'children' friendly. It was aired quite late. Children should be asleep or parents would know not to let them watch? *shrugs*
Anyway, I also remember people writing in to the newspaper to complain about the censoring after the show was aired. Almost everyday, there are people complaining about it and voila! The second episode was not as heavily censored. At least you can understand what the actors are trying to say and it made the show more bearable.
It's kinda sad that the show has ran its course. It has and still is bringing laughter to a lot of people. And thank God for DVDs :P
Ok. Back to F.R.I.E.N.D.S now. haha....

Not helpful helpline
I'm not very happy with Hewlett-Packard. Actually I'm very annoyed. I don't think I'll ever purchase another laptop/desktop/whatever from HP anymore in the future.
Sure, my tablet PC "looks" cool. But it crashed on me twice already. And no, I don't simply open attachments or download stuffs.
And you know what? Their helpline is not helpful at all (pun intended). Firstly, the person talks with very heavy accent which makes him/her very difficult to understand, then they disconnected my line a few times, made me explain the same problem numerous times to different people and in the end, they tell me I have to go down to their Service Centre to have my recovery disk replaced. And that I will be charged.... wtf.
I have 3 years warranty extended on this baby and I am so regretting it.
Tell me, what's the use of having a Helpline (phone/email) when your ultimate response for everything is that we, the consumer, has to go to the blardy service centre???? Might as well save some resources and abolish the helpline (!).
Seriously.

of a Guy, a Girl and 2 cops ....
I'm in Penang! Oh, right... I already told you that in the short-talk I posted yesterday evening :)
But guess what? We drove here, and this being my virgin visit to the island of Penang.. hehe. I know. In all my 20+++ years of life (wat?? I put a lot of + behind the 20 already.... >.<), I have never stepped foot up this side of Malaysia. I've been to Kelantan and Terengganu in my teens during a school trip but I've never been to Perak, or Kedah or even Penang... sad, huh? Well, you get some, you lose some? :P
Anyway, the Mr. has been to the Pearl of the Orient before but this is his first time driving up here too. So, it's kinda like the blind leading the blind here, huh? :P
We started journey about 10pm last night as he wanted to be here so that he can see his client early the next day. So we made some calls to our Penangite friends and got some directions. The Mr. got a map too and after we grab a cuppa from Starbucks, we drove..... (brave, hor?)
It was quite easy, really. Just follow Ipoh... and after you pass Ipoh, you just follow Penang...and Georgetown (that's where we're headed). The tricky part is after the toll on the bridge into the island.
My friend gave pretty clear directions.... but we missed the landmark! Maybe it's super dark in the night (we reached about 2+ am) but we didn't see Tesco and so we didn't turn left... we just went straight. Ended up way past the roads my friend wanted us to take but was somewhere near the vicinity of the hotel we're supposed to stay in. And the Mr. did something quite daring. Ehemm, he stopped at the side of a ,hmm, roundabout. Clever, right? Cos he's not sure which way to turn.....
Called my friend and he was like, "hey, I am coming to get you guys... Just wait for me." But we didn't really want to trouble him out of his house... and that's when a police car pulled up beside ours. Of course he asked why we stopped so dangerously, to which we sheepishly looked at him... "sesat" (lost), I told him.. Anyhoo, he tried to explain the directions to us and we just kinda stared at them... and his partner, so nice I tell you, said "why don't you follow us? We'll lead you."
Wow, I tell you. I don't know about you but I rarely have conversation with cops. And we were so blessed to meet such nice cops yesterday night! Called my friend immediately to tell him not to worry and followed the police to the hotel :) Not bad, got police escort :P
So, we reached safely, washed up and plonked onto the bed... Gonna meet my ex-colleague for lunch later. Will give my friend a call as well.... might not be able to meet up with them too but he's really so kind to wake up in the middle of the night for us! Thanks man, you know who you are!!!

Our honeymoon in Bali
More to come, I hope :)
Honeymoon is not only for the newly-weds, right? I mean, it can happen anytime during the marriage.
We went to Bali for our 'first' honeymoon. Overall, it's a nice place. If you like beaches and temples (lots of them) and sightseeing, then Bali is not too shabby. Things are not exactly cheap, though. Most things are in USD and when they are not (meaning in Rupiah), it's so hard to calculate... too many zero's in their currency :P Saw a couple of foreigners with calculators in their hands! Unfortunately my phone's calculator can't fit all the digits needed, most of the time we have to rely on our brain.... haha.
I will write more on our adventures and 'misadventures' in Bali in the coming days/weeks There's always something to learn when you go to a foreign country, even if you do understand what they are bitching about the tourists... yes, Bahasa Indonesia is quite similar to Bahasa Malaysia (BM) and I am from the national school = I studied BM since I was 7 :)
For now, let's give the pictures a chance to do the talking :)
Bright sunny day.... & us
Rice Terrace in Begalalang
Hubby drinking coconut juice....Tanah Lot

Hope you enjoyed the pictures :) Travelogue coming soon .....

Last week of pure bliss :P
This is the start of the last week of pure bliss where I get to sleep late, wake up late and not worry about traffic jams.
It may seem like quite a long holiday for some but honestly speaking, time flies. It seemed like a super long holiday to me too when I applied for leave but looking back now, it doesn't seem like so long ago.
This will be my recuperating week :) First week on leave was hectic with wedding stuff, then after the wedding, we had some time to rest and it's off to Bali for our honeymoon (and I was sick. boo hoo!) and yep, now comes the final leg concluding my looooong leave :P
I appreciate this week. I know I am. At least I can take it slow while getting the place up. Aunt gave us some kitchen utensils (which I have to sort out and wash), I've got laundry yet to be washed and tons to be ironed. Hubby's gone back to work so it's just me :)
Ok now. Gonna have to finish up my breakfast, check on my laundry and start some ironing.....

I'm feeling very ill. sigh. On the eve of our Bali trip :(
I'm so groggy I injured my finger :( My eyes are puffy & watery, nasal passage feels funny, throat's itching and my body's feverish too....
Gonna pop more panadols and hit the sack. Please help pray for speedy recovery....

Some wedding pictures...
... before the news gets stale... hehe. I haven't got the professional shots back from the photographers yet but here's some from my cousin's & my camera :) These are just some of the shots of the day. The internet connection here just isn't fast enough to upload pictures. It takes such a long time.... I could take a nap in between... :P
I'll post up more shots soon. Maybe even upload them on flickr or something so that you can see them over there :) What say you?

Short-talk (for real this time...)
We had soba for lunch today. The Mr. cooked while I'm busy with the laundry :)
Not a bad meal. Very simple. The only thing is that we don't have bowls, fork, chopsticks and strainer... HAHAHA.
Had to really make do.
c'est la vie, man. c'est la vie :)

Short-talk
I cut my fingernails!!! I'm refering to my short-talk on manicures, sometime, erm, last week? The one where I got my first ever manicure done?
Well, I purposely grew my nails a little bit longer (manicurist said it's not long enough) for the wedding. Now that it's over and I really don't understand how one can keep long nails.... hehe.. I took the nail-cutter and cut them all short! Oh, happy day!!
Now I feel like it's my own hands again. It was nice having french manicure, nice ladylike fingers but I really can't stand it. Well, you can't understand why I like short nails? Vice versa, babe. I can't comprehend how you grow the nails long too.
It gets in my way when I want to do housework, things get under my nail when I eat, it's hard to type away and it's not crafting-friendly :P
La-di-da... I'm a lady who's not really a lady. hah.. Give me a DSLR camera, macbook or new craft tools over LV or Gucci or Coach anytime :)
Ok. So this short-talk turned out to be not so short after all :P

These shoes are made for walkin' ....
Bought a pair of comfy shoes after walking a few hours in 1Utama couple of days ago. The sandals that I was wearing was ok if I'm covering short distances but if I wanna walk a couple of hours in them, then they get kinda uncomfortable. You see, they are wooden (which is a bit like clogs) and the surface is hard. Makes your feet feel like they're hitting the ground after walking for a while.....
So, the Mr. brought me into a few shoe shops but we couldn't find anything, erm, nice. I was about to give up when we decided to walk into Royal Sporting House. Browsed through the racks until my eyes feasted upon this pair of cutie! :)

my first rockport :)
They are like the Mary-Janes of sportiness :) A little bit girly yet sporty.. haha... I love them though they kinda bit me yesterday :( and made me walk like an old lady.. haha..(I suffer from 'new shoe syndrome', I tell ya, seriously!). No matter how comfy they feel, they usually make me suffer for a few weeks before they become 'kinder' to my feet.
Had to buy handiplast from Watson's for rescue :P Sat down outside Reject Shop, plastered my heel and I'm good to go again... Just have to get past these few weeks (days, I hope).
Good luck to me!

p/s : I do realize that I'm supposed to post up my wedding pictures and montage but the CD is with my sis-in-law :) Will get it resized and up on this blog soon. Watch this space! :)
