Last 2 weeks ago, I had the privilege to meet up with the people at Kita-Kita in Damansara Heights and was given the opportunity to handstitch some journals using Malaysian Batik.
I really love how these batik journals turned out. I have always had a love for things that has an ethnic identity, be it Malay, Chinese, Indian or tribal. I like how there is an identity behind our individual ethnicity. That's why if I visit a country, I want to experience their way of life, see the things they see and not go shopping in malls. We have malls here too..
I love the feel these journals exudes. It's different from the ones I normally make with Japanese or American fabric :) I would have to say, they are all pretty, but they have all have different feelings to me.
Really hoping that these journals will be well received and be loved by their new owners :)

Hi!
Thank you! And about the coasters: it depends.. sometimes i put the batting, this way when someone spills a lot of water from the mug it goes to the coaster, but when we are talking about the prettyness, I rather like notehing between those fabrics. It's flat but it looks nice!
