Why not?
Nothing much to blog about. Hmmm... sounds like life has been boring for me, ya?
Well, yes and no.
I did make a few notecard sets and about half a dozen cards of all sorts the last week. Energy's been a bit down these few days so I guess I won't be making any cards :(
Work has been, .... well *shrugs* this is the time of the month where there's a lot of reporting to write up and send up so blearggghhh. Hate it. Am not a big fan of paperwork. I just like to do and not write the reports, can? hehehe.... Life's not a like a cotton candy :P
A few more things to write up and follow-up and I think I'll be back on track.
Why oh why am I not some rich lady, sipping Starbucks at 10 in the morning, enjoying her book and then go shopping/gym/help out at some shelther and not have to worry about money (cos I'm rich!) ...... ? :P
Haha.... I will continue to dream on.... you don't have to tell me to wake up :P

Absence
It's been about a month plus now. I can't say that it's been the best of times. I miss your presence and I can't help but want to check on you each and everyday just to see if you're there.
Why are you shying away from me?
Why are you eluding yourself?
I wish I know the reason. I wish I know where you are right now and if you're ok. I just want to know that you are well & that this will soon be back to the way it was.
.................
..............
..........
......
...
.
Nah... nobody's shying away from me. Well, technically speaking they are not shying away from one particular person.
I'm missing my buddies' blogs. Friends whom I made while on Etsy & shared our blog links. Friends who updated ever so frequently in the past but have not these past few weeks, months. I'm missing reading their blogs, admiring their photos and wondering why they have not updated.
SIGH.
Not like I know them personally & am able to ask them :(
I just hope that all is well and this is just a hiatus that will soon be over. That includes you, Moonfish. I haven't seen an update for some time... Missing you too....

Ipoh Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan
The whole family including the uncles, aunties and cousins went on a road trip to Ipoh one weekend. 4 car convoy. Had lotsa good food, stuffed ourselves until we could eat no more. Went to Ipoh Parade to hide from the afternoon sun, visited the Osim there and had our massages (on the chairs, whatchamacallit... you name it).
Took lots of pictures but only one with me in it. Thank God it was ok taken.... I think there's me in my cousin's camera. Will 'steal' the pictures from her soon :P
And that's the end of the photolog :P

Under the weather
Am feeling a little under the weather. Been having sorethroat since yesterday. Nose's a bit block today and kinda feverish the whole day.
Doesn't help that I feel so tired & lethargic...
Sigh.
Although I won't mind some malt candy or hot honey lemon to soothe the throat and ease the soul :)

8am on a Sunday
We went for our first ever 8am Sunday service today! hahhahah... been talking about going to church early so that there's more of Sunday to lepak around but that means having to wake up early... :P
Quite a dilemma since we (I think I speak for the both of us..hehe) like to sleep in on a weekend but also want to be able to lepak more but have to go to church as well (!)
So, this morning when the alarm rang, we decided to drag our sorry a** out of bed instead of snuggling in. Got ready, packed breakfast to eat on the way and of course, I must have my coffee so I prepared my thermos and off we go!
Was a wee bit late. We reach around 815 am but still had time for praise & worship (very important..cos I like to sing :P). We'll be better next week *winks*
Today's message is very relevant, I feel, to me and maybe many others.
Pastor talked about fear. Fear and threats are two separate entities with very different meanings. Fear can exist even when the threat is long gone. It's true, isn't it? How, if a person gets bitten by a dog as a kid will grow up to be an adult who's afraid of dogs?
We must identify our fears, get past it and face the threat without fear. Knowing that even if there's undesirable consequences from our confrontation/decision, we can accept it.
Now, I must go and identify my fear, rebuke it and know it will be taken care of by Jesus :)
What is your fear?

Grandma's Birthday Celebration
Last week was my grandma's birthday and all my relatives came to KL to celebrate her birthday with her :)
It's always nice to have family gathering :) All the uncles, aunties and cousins together, joking, laughing and sharing a moment together. We even made a day trip to Ipoh just to eat and have fun the next day. I'll share the photos of the Ipoh trip sometime in the near future.
Here are some of the photos taken when we celebrated Grandma's birthday :) We had the cake-cutting in Unc's house.
I pray for good health, good memory and lots of happiness & many, many more birthday celebrations by us for her!!

Truth in humour? :)
I found this very interesting article from my friend's facebook page...... There's reality in humor...hehe.
"First published in the British humour magazine "Punch Magazine" on April 3, 1957:
But still VERY pertinent to Banking practices today.
Q: What are banks for?
A: To make money.
Q: For the customers?
A: For the banks.
Q: Why doesn't bank advertising mention this?
A: It would not be in good taste. But it is mentioned by implication in references to reserves of $249,000,000, 000 or thereabouts. That is the money they have made.
Q: Out of the customers?
A: I suppose so.
Q: They also mention Assets of $500,000,000, 000 or thereabouts. Have they made that too?
A: Not exactly. That is the money they use to make money.
Q: I see. And they keep it in a safe somewhere?
A: Not at all. They lend it to customers.
Q: Then they haven't got it?
A: No.
Q: Then how is it Assets?
A: They maintain that it would be if they got it back.
Q: But they must have some money in a safe somewhere?
A: Yes, usually $500,000,000, 000 or thereabouts. This is called Liabilities.
Q: But if they've got it, how can they be liable for it?
A: Because it isn't theirs.
Q: Then why do they have it?
A: It has been lent to them by customers.
Q: You mean customers lend banks money?
A: In effect. They put money into their accounts, so it is really lent to the banks.
Q: And what do the banks do with it?
A: Lend it to other customers.
Q: But you said that money they lent to other people was Assets?
A: Yes.
Q: Then Assets and Liabilities must be the same thing?
A: You can't really say that.
Q: But you've just said it! If I put $100 into my account the bank is liable to have to pay it back, so it's Liabilities. But they go and lend it to someone else and he is liable to have to pay it back, so it's Assets. It's the same $100 isn't it?
A: Yes, but....
Q: Then it cancels out. It means, doesn't it, that banks haven't really any money at all?
A: Theoretically. .....
Q: Never mind theoretically! And if they haven't any money, where do they get their Reserves of $249,000,000, 000 or thereabouts? ?
A: I told you. That is the money they have made.
Q: How?
A: Well, when they lend your $100 to someone they charge him interest.
Q: How much?
A: It depends on the Bank Rate. Say five and a-half percent. That's their profit.
Q: Why isn't it my profit? Isn't it my money?
A: It's the theory of banking practice that........ .
Q: When I lend them my $100 why don't I charge them interest?
A: You do.
Q: You don't say. How much?
A: It depends on the Bank Rate. Say a half percent.
Q: Grasping of me, rather?
A: But that's only if you're not going to draw the money out again.
Q: But of course I'm going to draw the money out again! If I hadn't wanted to draw it out again I could have buried it in the garden!
A: They wouldn't like you to draw it out again.
Q: Why not? If I keep it there you say it's a Liability. Wouldn't they be glad if I reduced their Liabilities by removing it?
A: No. Because if you remove it they can't lend it to anyone else.
Q: But if I wanted to remove it they'd have to let me?
A: Certainly.
Q: But suppose they've already lent it to another customer?
A: Then they'll let you have some other customers money.
Q: But suppose he wants his too....and they've already let me have it?
A: You're being purposely obtuse.
Q: I think I'm being acute. What if everyone wanted their money all at once?
A: It's the theory of banking practice that they never would.
Q: So what banks bank on, is not having to meet their commitments?
A. YOU GOT IT!"

Short-talk
Got a flat tyre last night. The Mr. spend quite a good amount of time (& sweat) to change the flat.
But I really have a serious dislike for mechanics. Everytime we see them for one small problem, we seem to end up with many more.....

Seek first ....
Sometimes we can never be sure where life will take us. Some people plan out their life so well only to find unexpected turns of events. Others never really plan their life but just live it one day at a time.
How should I then live mine?
Planning is all good but we must be mentally prepared that planning is all planning is and the end-results might more often than not differ. Variables, as we know it exists in all forms and entities. Failure in planning, however, is frowned upon but not entirely a bad thing at all. Who says living life on the edge might not be what life is all about?

Flat Tyre
Went out to 1Utama with hubby to meet up with Momo*Chin, Sue Chin and my Bro for dinner. They were already there earlier for cakes. I was supposed to be there too (sobs!) but I was too caught up with work today and forgot to reply to Momo.
By the time she called me, I was already late. So, I came home for a shower first and went there with the Mr.
We had fun chatting and gossiping at Good Evening Bangkok. I think they've changed management, though. The waiters seemed different and the food too. Just didn't feel like when we were last there. I can't explain why I felt that way but well, the menu had a total makeover too! That was more beautiful, though :)
Then it was time to go home and the Mr. and I went to grab my facial stuffs before heading home. Well, I ran out of a few products and I was glad we went to check out the shop because they were having promotion of 50% off second purchase. I ran out of 2 items, so the timing was just right. Bought another 2 items I almost ran out too since the promo is only until the 11th March.
SIGH... I actually went in to buy 1 product and ended up walking out with 4. The only consolation is that I saved money. Quite a substantial bit too. Nonetheless, couldn't help but feel the pinch in my heart after spending more than I initially thought I would. Tell you ar, save money also can feel heartache cos have to spend first. Imagine my pain buying the products as opposed to if I REALLY bought the TOD's bag! I think I might suffer a mini heart attack right there and then but will still fall madly, deeply in love with the bag :P
.... but *heart attack* loh..... sigh....
Anyway, we then bumped into Mr. PPJay who brought the Mrs. there to buy a dress. PPJay needed a dress for a wedding she's attending this coming Sunday. Unfortunately I don't have a dress in that colour scheme to loan to her... Though I told her she can try my white cheongsam with motifs on it :)
Ok, this flat tyre story is getting boring, right? :P
But it really happened. We got a flat tyre on the way home. Thank God we stay about 10 minutes away from the shopping complex. The Mr. was driving my SLK (Small Little Kelisa) and hit a pothole. I didn't expect the tyre to give out. All I thought was, darn... maybe a dent on the rim (again..I was prone to that). Told the Mr. to be more careful as my car is not as sturdy as his but imagine my shock when we got down from the car and I saw the flat!
Alamak... why? I don't think that pothole was that big. The Mr. changed the flat to the spare and I've called my boss that I will be in a bit late tomorrow as I've got to get the tyre fixed. After a good dinner, a good work-out was in session :P The Mr. was drenched in sweat after changing the tyre. It's no sweat! (pun intended)
And I thought today will be uneventful........ who would have thought? :)

Torrential downpour
Rain came pouring down about 4 in the afternoon. Why in the world would I remember the time was either because I was waiting to go home or we had a scheduled meeting at said time. Well, I definitely was not lucky enough to sit and wait to go home :)
We didn't expect the rain to be that heavy but when the meeting was concluded and my colleague went to check-out the situation down below, he was shocked to see the Gombak river overflow. Water, brown muddy water, was gushing down the river and has already covered the grounds of the Masjid.
I have never seen all my colleagues pack up and leave that fast!
As expected, traffic was horrendous and the road was not even flooded (thank God!). Would have been massively worse if the roads were flooded, so it's really a blessing.
Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the event as I didn't expect I would actually blog about it.
Well, just imagine teh-tarik gushing down the river and flooding the Masjid. That would be good enough :D
